A Georgia police officer stopped a fleeing suspect by crashing into his vehicle during a high-speed pursuit that had the driver weaving around patrol cars and traveling the wrong way down a highway.
The chase, which was captutred on a dashboard camera, happened April 16 when a Peachtree City police officer tried to a stop a driver in a Chevrolet Malibu who was speeding, WAGA-TV reports. The driver did not stop, and he reached speeds of over 100 mph as police continued their pursuit.
In the video footage, the driver apparently avoids stop sticks that had been deployed and is able to maneuver around cruisers in his way. At some point, he crosses the median and begins speeding down the wrong lanes of traffic.
But when the Malibu crosses the grassy median again to return to the proper lanes, an officer is able to ram the vehicle and end the chase. The driver—Gerontay D. Adams, 29—was then taken into custody.
A search of Adams' car found a large amount of marijuana, ecstasy, crack and other drugs. A firearm also was discovered.
Adams faces over 50 traffic charges, as well as felony drug and gun charges.
No injuries were reported from the incident.
